to Setup Netgear Router
Connect the modem to
the Netgear router by using the ethernet cable. Attach the ethernet
cable to the Netgear router and the LAN port of your computer. Power
off your PC, modem, router, and then, turn them on again. Wait until
all these devices initialize.

Double-click the browser icon on your desktop and wait until the homepage loads. Go to the Address bar and type the line, 'http:/192.168.0.1' or 'http://192.168.1.1' without quotes and press Enter.

Now, you will see a prompt requesting you to key in your Netgear router. By default, the Netgear device username is admin, and its password is password. Note that these words are case sensitive. So enter them exactly as mentioned. However, if you have changed the Netgear device's password, make sure you type that instead.

The Netgear main screen will be displayed. Click on the Netgear router setup Wizard button located on the left-hand side. Click the Yes radio button on the right-hand side and click Next.

If the type of connection used is static, the corresponding message will be displayed. If it is dynamic, the dynamic IP detected message will be shown. Click Next.

Go to the panel on the left-hand side and click on Router Status under Maintenance. Check whether a valid IP address is displayed. If it is an IP address comprising only zeroes, it is invalid. If it is a valid IP address, it will appear something like 99.35.154.87.
How
to Change Netgear Router Password

Open a browser and type the Netgear router setup’s default IP address, and then provide the login details to to change Netgear router password.

Go to the Basic Home page of the Netgear router and choose the Wireless button.

Type a new Service Set Identifier or network name if needed to to change Netgear router password.

You must type the new password in the Password area.

The changes get saved after you click on the Save button to to change Netgear router password.
